Only in Him is our empty filled…

SNOWY SAT HORSES IMG_2092

How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house;
And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.
For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.
Psalm 36:7-9

And in Your love we love.

In Your Being we find fullness of joy.

And they are delights unknown like this new year reaching into the unknown. Awaiting us like the dawn when our eyes open and we seek You with all our heart.

Gold like liquid sunshine pours from Your Lord heart into ours. And our whole heart full of holes fills with love. A powerful bond harder than cement with no cracks in the foundation. And stronger than death.

Unbreakable.

Because You never let us go.

And we become unbroken as we come to You. Each morning and throughout the day. Humbly. Knees bent. Hands lifted. Heart hushed.

Worshipping.

Finding.

You.

And mercy. And grace amazing, love unending, acceptance, forgiveness, strength.

Day by day. Line by line. Precept upon precept.

Your word washes us white like the snow gently falling outside my door today. Swirling and settling like so much powdered sugar sprinkled.

Sweet.

And we taste and see You and Your goodness as we believe. And our faith makes us well, You said.

So let us arise and not just talk, read or plan in this first month of a new year yet unwritten. But let us live the commands of Christ as disciples who obey. And in so doing carry out the Great Commission making disciples by our own examples of obedience in love.

And our character more Christ-like every day.

Always beginning and ending and beginning again in You.

And the wind of Holy Spirit will be as a summer breeze blowing linens washed clean and fresh. With a gentle rustle of sheets flapping and snapping.

Rippling.

Fabric of our lives woven one stitch at a time by Your hand making ripples right where we are right now ever changing.

We cling and are unflappable as we are unmovable moving closer to You our Healer.

Counselor full of wonders.

Our peace…

  1. Such beautiful words Sheila. Thanks for encouraging my heart today. “So let us arise and not just talk, read or plan in this first month of a new year yet unwritten. But let us live the commands of Christ as disciples who obey. And in so doing carry out the Great Commission making disciples by our own examples of obedience in love.” Amen!

  2. Amen and praise God!

I opened by Bible this morning and before I could even begin reading I was filled with praise for my Savior. I simply wanted to worship Him!
Blessed be the name of our Lord. He is worthy of our praise and our obedience. We can trust Him.

    • Yes, we can, TC. He has never once failed us. And…He inhabits the praises of His people. I just commented on this today during our early morning couple prayer/reading time. He inhabits … He’s right there with us! Such a comforting thought. Blessings, TC.

  3. I love your photos and how they illustrate so beautifully the magic of winter and snow and how a time of seeming death is actually a time to rest and contemplate the wondrous love of God :).

    • Thanks, Anita. Winter is by far my least favorite season but this year I am trying to honor God more by finding the beauty and grace in it and not wishing for spring like I have in the past. Just taking each grace-filled day one moment at a time. Blessings…

  4. I live in upstate NY and we get snow dumped on us 6 months of the year. I am not a fan, but the way you described it here…

“Your word washes us white like the snow gently falling outside my door today. Swirling and settling like so much powdered sugar sprinkled.”

…moved my heart. Thank you for inspiring me with this beautiful analogy. And, thank you for the encouragement to “arise” and “live the commands of Christ as disciples who obey.” Praising God for prompting me to click and read this post today! #DanceWithJesus

    • Six months of sNOw! My heart goes out to you as I am not a fan of winter and snow either — a few weeks are okay, but…So this year I am trying to be more intentionally positive about the snow since I drove my dear Michael a little nuts last winter with all my moaning about “I wish it was summer already!!” I am so touched and humbled by your words. Thank you, Tina. And so glad we are connecting via #DanceWithJesus!
