Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light
And your judgment as the noonday.
Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him…
Sometimes we strive so hard that we make ourselves sick. Bodies break down, minds get lost and our soul spins in self-centric circles of ever darkening darkness.
Yet He keeps calling to our hearts.
Wooing us till He wins us. And beckoning us to times of lying down to rest. Being stilled.
And when we do, ah, how sweet it is.
Rest refreshes bringing restoration that rejuvenates us to carry on.
Rest in the Lord, where we exhale and let go and simply be in Him and with him and for Him.
And as we keep pressing in to know Him better and love Him more, He will give us the desires of our hearts. They may line up with the dreams we hold in our hearts for this one life we live on earth.
Or the desires may be things we never thought of before, yet these new desires — His desires for us, His plans for us for good and not for harm – – will bring forth light in a whole new way. And this light that He shines into the chambers of our inner most hearts will burst forth, illuminating other lives darkened by sin or fear or pain or loss.
So let us choose this day to commit our way to the Lord and trust.
Yet that little five letter word is huge for those of us who have been hurt or disappointed by another. In our hurt we often run away and hide from God, either in anger or shame. And He waits patiently for us as we run from Him, choosing not to trust and obey, but opting instead to take the matters of our lives both great and small into our own hands, thinking we know best.
But only Father knows best.
And the outcomes of our choices can often be disastrous. So let us leave the old ways and delight ourselves in the One who tells us we are the apple of His eye, the delight of His heart.
We are the DELIGHT of the MASTER’s HEART!
Let this truth wash over you, as I let it wash over me. Let it take us away to places we have never been before. And then let’s rest there.
Resting right where we are in this one moment in time, no matter if the moment seems good or not so good.
For Father will work all things for good and He shall withhold no good thing from us when we choose to walk uprightly.
Take His hand and never let it go. And because He loves us so much we can finally let go.
He will cover us with His love.
In a sweet, still meadow where we lie down in peace, mercy will meet us and goodness overflowing will make our hearts glad.
And we will exhale, as we give Him our all…
