With a heart as cold as ice.
Frozen shut because it had been broken once too often and the pain was too terrible to bear. It just seemed easier to leave it like that, go through the motions, not getting involved.
But, safe is not real life.
Real life hurts. We cry. We bleed. Sometimes we even break.
But, it is always better to stay open and vulnerable because that is where the stuff of dreams is made.
Yet, it can be a long journey to get to the point that you surrender to God your heart of frozen cold stone so that in return you can get a new heart of flesh.
I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Ezekial 11:19
And then, the adventure truly begins because now your heart is pulsating with Love. Love so powerful that it changes your life. Eternally…
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Where you once were like a statue — beautiful, cold and immovable — now, you are you only so much better because finally you are real.
And real can translate free and freedom sure feels good after years of bondage inside a stone hard cage of a life that held you captive.
Colors are now brighter, the sun is now warmer, the sound of songbirds so much sweeter.
No longer do cold winds blow, but rather balmy breezes fill the air and warm your spirit which radiates a warmth that reaches out to another made of stone with a heart as cold as ice and says…
Let go, forgive, be set free and love…
